Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy rehabilitation involves exercises designed to develop, restore or maintain the skills related to daily living. These everyday skills may include tasks such as bathing, eating, dressing, cooking, cleaning, walking or anything else that occupies time throughout the day. Our occupational therapists may also help your loved one adjust to any specific challenges that result from temporary or chronic illness or injury.

Occupational therapy may be recommended for seniors experiencing memory loss, mental illness, vision loss, arthritis or injuries to the head or upper extremities. Patients who have suffered from a heart attack or stroke may also benefit from occupational therapy.

Our occupational therapists utilize a holistic approach that promotes overall wellness: we consider the whole individual and investigate underlying issues, rather than focusing solely on the surface symptoms. In addition, since no two patients are alike, our occupational therapy services are designed to meet each patient’s specific functional goals. Our occupational therapists will work with you and your loved one to develop a personalized plan to fit her needs. This may include modifications to certain activities of daily living as well as exercises to increase range of motion, sharpen fine and basic motor skills, increase strength and improve dexterity.

Our team of experts applies research and evidence-based techniques to enable patients to become more productive and independent. We can help your loved one feel stronger, more in control, more confident and improve her quality of life. For more information, please contact us at (318) 445-6470 or email us at info@cci.la.
